It’s been so long, I don’t even know what to title this post buy hey it’s a blog post nonetheless

It’s been so long, I don’t even know what to title this post… First off, yes that’s my title for today’s post; second, it’s my first post in what literally feels like ages; third, why hello!!; fourth, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!; and lastly fifth, it really has been forever since I last blogged about anything.

Phew, now that that’s all taken care of, I miss my blog. I miss my you guys. I miss baking cupcakes. I miss interacting with all of you guys. I miss my hobby. I miss cooking and I’m sure he misses eating lol.

she cooks, he eats was a happy accident. When I first made this blog, I had no intentions to blog but more like chronicle what I’ve made on my “Kat needs to find a hobby so she can quit annoying her boyfriend, so I’ll cook ” adventure. After my first post on cinnamon swirl pancakes, I was hooked. I fell in love with blogging and the online foodie community.  My boyfriend even surprised me with my own url (http://www.shecooksandheeats.com), which I still haven’t transferred over or re-routed that one to this or this to that…ugh you guys know what I mean ie. I’ve become lazy.

Anyhoo to spare you from reading anymore of my awful run-on sentences, I just wanted to let you know that I have been cooking (not as much as I’d like to) and he has been eating (hmph, not my cooking!)  :)

With that said, how was your holiday?

Unfortunately, I had to work on Christmas Eve so we ended up doing something small and had a mini-Christmas-celebration-meant-for-two when I got off work. He was going to take me to The Habit! I’m not a hamburger person but oh boy, I was excited! Sadly, by the time we arrived they were closing. On the drive to The Habit, we spotted THE Chili’s where we probably had one of our most memorable/hilarious dates ever! So Chili’s it was!

A very festive raspberry margarita :)

For us, a Chili’s date always includes lots of unwinding and me giggling up a storm because I go into margarita happy zone lol :)

When I’m in my margarita giggling fit, I crave carbs. The waiter said this was the most carb-loaded item on their menu. I ate. I survived. I was happy :)

He fancies the buffalo wings. I ate one and gnawed on a celery stick. Clearly, I only had an appetite for cheesy fries :D

Still in my state of being “margarita happy”, we said our goodbyes and parted ways to celebrate the holidays with our respective families.

Here are some pics that I’ve taken over the holidays…

This was my ornament for our Christmas tree at work!

It looks just like my shoe! I’m pretty sure I’m the only girl who dares to wear heels on a daily basis; therefore, I am also the loudest :)

I just love this time of the year!

She loves red velvet, he loves cheesecake. Red velvet cheesecake <3

OMG the frosted cupcake candle from Bath and Body Works is amazing!

Pinkberry, my favorite! I’m learning to share and gave him a piece of my mochi :)

We try to find time for date night after work :) PS, this was taken at my half bday/3.5 year semi-annual anniversary

Christmas was too short because the next day I was back at work! As for work, I love work! Everyone has just been so nice to me, I’m definitely going to miss them all and I’m definitely not as excited as I should be heading back to our corporate office at the start of next year.

And for NEXT year, my boyfriend and I have plans to workout so we can stay fit and I am making it a personal resolution of mine to cook and blog again :)

PS. Today’s post wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for emails (thanks Trish!) and random comments that you guys have left me regarding my random disappearance :). It makes me so happy knowing that you guys still check out this blog even after a long state of no-posting! Thank you to the 200+ that come by to visit the ol’ blog :)

PPS. Thank you to the world’s most amazing supportive boyfriend! Throughout this whole time I’ve been gone, he’s encouraged me to continue and to not give up on my passions. I heart you :)

  1. I just came back to my blog today!! I felt pretty guilty leaving it (and the people I interact with!!) out on the cold. I’ve been cooking and baking like crazy but haven’t found anytime to take pictures and write about it…Sometimes life just takes over! Your Holiday looks like it was a wonderfully delicious time. :)
