Happy Birthday Julia!

“The only real stumbling block is fear of failure. In cooking you’ve got to have a what-the-hell attitude,” Julia Child.

Julia Child was one of the very first chefs I ever watched on tv. My six-year old self was enamored with her wit, spontaneity, humor, and delicious offerings! Before the Food Network or the Cooking Channel, I was glued to PBS everyday watching her, Jacque Pepin, Jacque Torres, and Martin Yan. I truly believe they were the true pioneers of tv cooking before Emeril, Rachel, Ina, and Giada.

Here are some of Julia’s classic recipes made by some of my favorite bloggers!

Hope you are having a wonderful evening! xoxo, kat

  1. I know before Food Network, etc. all we had was PBS! I loved all those cooks too! (Although Kat, I have seen your beautiful hands and you are at least 25 years younger than me!) Mine are old and pinker than The Pioneer Woman always claims hers are!
There was an Italian guy I liked too – i can’t think of his name right now. I have her giant cookbook “The Way to Cook” and I think i’ve only made her Cornmeal Pizza Dough many years ago – I remember it worked great and also the French Onion soup recipe! I must get busy and try more. I usually use a form of Ina’s for the roast chicken but I better try Julias!
