Did you know that January 19th was National Popcorn Day? I kinda had a feeling when I noticed a slew of tempting popcorn recipes that had popped up into my Google Reader feed. Hehe, no pun intended! :)
I love popcorn! But for me, it’s one of those snacks that I rarely get to indulge in. I love the convenience of microwave popcorn, but I hate the after effects…the bloating, the grease, the ughh-why-did-I-eat-that feeling. I also love going to my local farmer’s market and buying a bag of kettle corn, but OMG have you guys seen the size of those things?! They are ginormous! And of course, I feel bad for only being capable of eating two big handfuls, le sigh. I’m sure you all know how I feel :)
Anyways, are you ready to ditch those bags of microwave popcorn sitting in your kitchen pantry for these delicious but easy alternatives?
Buttery Brown Sugar Popcorn (recipe here):
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Popcorn (recipe here):
Salted Caramel Apples with Popcorn (recipe here):
Tipsy Maple Corn (recipe here):
Homemade Kettle Corn (recipe here):
All such yummy ideas, right? Which one is your favorite? I’m a kettle corn kinda girl, but I definitely wouldn’t mind trying the Reese’s peanut butter cup popcorn!
OHHH! And be sure to check out this wonderful DIY on how to make gourmet popcorn in the microwave using just a regular plain old brown paper bag! It’s a great way to enjoy just the perfect amount of popcorn without over-eating! Who doesn’t love that? :)
Have a beautiful Monday!

Yesterday I was actually thinking about making Poppycock!
what is poppycock???
It’s OK I did not know what poppcock was until someone gave it to me recently. Now that sounds like a contagious disesase… Sorry rambling again! You can buy Poppycock from Costco and it is a toffee popcorn with whole nut pieces. It is very moreish and comes from the US I think. Thanks for the popcorn inspiration links.
Ooo that sounds good!! Have you had Moose Munch? That is my FAVE!!! Chocolate and caramel popcorn :)
