Happy National Sandwich Day!

Did you know today is Sandwich Day? I know I didn’t! But then I again…it makes sense because there’s a national day for everything! Still wondering if there’s a National Red Velvet Day because that would be my day! And oh, National Bacon Day too! When’s that by the way?? :)

Are you guys having sandwiches today? Sadly, I’m not because I’m saving my tummy for Paula Deen’s Lots O’Meat Lasagna! It’s finally date night, I am beyond excited!!

If you want a good chuckle, check out this hilarious story about a sandwich snatcher on food beast.

Here are some yummy sandwiches that caught my taste buds…

Tomato Avocado Pesto Sandwich (recipe here):

Mini BLT (recipe here):

What are some of your favorite sandwiches? Mine are the classic PB+J (and if I’m feeling extra sassy, I’ll add in a few banana slices! I think it’s Elvis’ fave, no? :) and chicken salad.

Hope everyone is off to a great day! So close to Friday showers (it’s going to rain tomorrow) :)

  1. I love sandwiches!!! I had one for lunch today — they are just so good! :) I also love using sandwiches as inspiration for other foods. Take PB&J’s for example: I like making PB&J cookies, peanut butter and jelly on top of bananas, oatmeal, pancakes, etc! Now try a PB&J Pancake Sandwich! Now that is good! :)

  2. National Bacon Day: Depends. Found the following: Either it is the 1st Saturday after new year’s day; or, Feb. 19th, or Mar. 5th or the Saturday b4 labor day. I think every day should be national bacon day!

  3. National Sandwich Day? That’s really neat. And I appreciate your sharing those delicious recipes! :) I think it’s so fun to celebrate the “smaller” holidays, like this one you mentioned, and Friendship Day, Flag Day… always worth it. :)
