National Taco Day
Posted: October 4, 2012 Filed under: babble | Tags: food, food holiday, national taco day, taco man, tacos 8 Comments »I hop onto Facebook and I find out it’s National Taco Day and tacos are like only one of my favorite foods ever! Good thing I had tacos today!
At work there is a taco truck that comes by everyday at 10:30am. For the last few days, I’ve seen lots of people rush out to wait in line for the taco man, and yesterday I missed him! But today, I officially introduced myself to him! Mr. Taco Man himself personally came up to me to ask me what I wanted to order, but only because the two ladies working inside the food truck didn’t understand what I was saying and I had to have co-worker order for me…. Hmmm ULTIMATE food truck fail LOL!
Anyhoo, his tacos are delicious and definitely hit the spot and it’s also a great little pick-me-up treat at work. I ordered the carne asada taco and tacos de papa (potato taco). Carne asada, good! It was my first time trying a tacos de papa and it’s interesting! I’m sure there are variations on how they’re made, but my taco tasted like a deep-fried hash brown taco.
I think I’m falling in love with my Mr. Taco Man! He also serves hot dogs!!! :)
I hope you guys are having a wonderful week! First week of work is almost done and so far I’m enjoying it.
I miss you guys!

why hello, Fall!!
Posted: September 23, 2012 Filed under: babble | Tags: fall 12 Comments »It’s the second official day of Autumn and it still feels like summer here in sunny (but extremely) hot California! Won’t this heatwave ever go away?? Can’t a girl just wear her new sweaters, scarves, and boots already? :)
For the first day of Fall, I celebrated with my first cup of Pumpkin Spiced Latte from Starbucks and went to a bbq/belated birthday party that my boyfriend’s family was throwing. He calls it bbq, I call it belated birthday party because there was a lot food (omg meat galore for an “occasional vegetarian” like myself ;), tons of cake and desserts (mmmm flan!), and presents! I definitely had a great time, and it was a great way to end summer and to kick off the new season!
I hope you had a wonderful first day of the new season and great weekend! How did you celebrate?

so long summer, see you next year!
Posted: September 23, 2012 Filed under: babble | Tags: end of summer, update 7 Comments »Hi everyone!! I feel like it’s been ages since I last sat down and took the time to write a true post. Well, I’d like to take the time now to recap the past few months and give you all a quick update on what I’ve been up to.
This has definitely been the summer of change! The official start of summer kicked off with graduation and my birthday. It started off with such hope and promise. I was thrilled that I was officially done with my Masters and school (for probably the rest of my life), but at the same time I was sad that school was coming to an end. For the last 20 years of my life, I’ve always been in school and never once took a break. So when it came down to saying goodbye to the only thing I knew in life, I was sad.

graduation!!
I also made sure I tried to enjoy my “last” summer before I entered the working world.
Speaking of the working world, it was definitely a very hard, frustrating, emotional, and mentally draining during the whole jobbing/I want to start a career process. There were moments when I just broke down in tears because it was August and I couldn’t find a job, and no one wanted to hire me because I had the education (sometimes maybe too much of an education…) but lacked the kind of work experience they wanted for the field/industry I wanted to be in. I was beyond frustrated, confused, upset, sad, and every single synonym there is in the dictionary. Throughout the whole process, my boyfriend has been an amazing support system and my dad has been supportive as well and reminding me that I shouldn’t give up on myself and “settle” for something less just because…
After countless hours on the internet, 100+ job applications, numerous rejection emails, and a handful of interviews, somewhere in the beginning of September I got the phone call I wanted to hear. I’m officially a working girl! An 8am-5pm working girl to be exact! It will be my first “job” aside from the internships I did in college. I am so excited to start working for the company that hired me, and just working in general! And I am so grateful that this company took a chance on me and offered me an opportunity.

reflecting on my summer and seeing this again gives new meanings to rainbows (yes, I am a sentimental sap! :D)
The summer may of started off with my birthday, but it ended with my boyfriend’s birthday! For his birthday, we kicked it off with a shopping excursion, sushi, grocery shopping (I love grocery shopping, I am beyond weird), and him his favorite for dinner! I made a big batch of Paula Deen’s Lots O’Meat Lasagna (but lasagna roll style!), so that he would have extras for the week and for work. Aren’t I just the bestest girlfriend? lol :)
The years in school we spent together and this summer in particular has truly been a growing experience for the both of us. And I am so looking forward to the future and all of our plans! I love him more than anyone in this world. I am so relieved and am just so happy and excited at where I am in life.
With all these changes that are happening, I hope I’m able to update my blog frequently. And thank you guys so much for reading my blog and just being a part of my life (yes, I am a cheeseball okaaaaay :)!! It really makes me smile that people are finding my blog through my favorite site, Pinterest, and are checking out some of my favorite foods I’ve made!
PS. I got a new cookbook in the mail! It’s an advanced copy of Tiny Food Party! from Spoon Fork Bacon. It’s one of my favorite blogs and I am so happy for them because they are coming out with their first cookbook on October 9th. I can’t wait to throw my first tiny food dinner party! I know I’m going to love this book! Pre-order it here!!!!
I hope you guys had a wonderful carefree summer!

Posted: August 3, 2012 Filed under: babble 11 Comments »Hi guys! Happy Friday!!! How was your week? Are you ready for the weekend?
This week has been pretty fun and enjoyable despite it being the height of summer season (ie. heat wave!!). I also got to catch up on a lot of my favorite blogs (and discovered a few new ones), so I did quite a bit of blog hopping this week. Check out some of my favorite blogs below:
- iliketotalkalot - I know you guys have heard me mention this blog a few times before, but I just love Claudia and her blog so I’m going to mention it as many times as I can! She’s one of my favorite beauty bloggers!
- Life in the Foothills – Her name is Barb, we’ve become cyber pen pals and she’s awesome! I’m pretty upset at myself for missing a few of her latest posts because she has been cooking up quite a storm lately and everything looks super delicious! She has this super cool recipe for Raspberry Frozen Yogurt and it only takes 10 minutes to make!!
- Yummy Lummy – Just go visit! All Gary posts are pics of food, like really really good food. Like I start drooling when I’m on his blog!
- El Fogoncitio - One phrase: nom nom nom nom. I love visiting this blog whenever I get the chance!
- Buy and Sell Real Estate – This blog offers wonderful advice on real estate, finance, and investing! It’s a great read and provides insight on our economy, particularly the real estate market. Hey, it’s good to stay in the know about things, right? :)
And here are just a few pics of what I’ve been up to lately…
Impromptu sushi dates are one of my favorite kind of dates :)
It’s been so warm here! So my favorite way to cool down is with some froyo!
I made a salad and it was pretty darn delicious!
And somewhere in the middle of the week, I discovered a new way to enjoy bruschetta! Also pretty darn delicious! :)
And this kept me giggling all week long!
I hope you guys all have a wonderful weekend filled with lots of love, sunshine, and happiness!

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! I hope you’re all having a wonderful day! Did you guys notice something different today? I got a makeover :)
I don’t really know what compelled me to change my blog theme, but I’m pretty sure it had to do with those weekly emails from WordPress announcing that they’ve released new themes. Le sigh, the sucker in me always checks, and this time I was extra tempted lol. I’m really happy with the re-design. As much as I loved the happy yellow background and banana (which was so me by the way :), I yearned for something a bit simpler — modern, uncluttered, and clean. I believe this theme is called “Clean Home”…haha, ironical!
I’m going to end this post with my recent favorite tune!
I hope you find the blog easier to navigate! And I really hope that you guys like it! PS. if you want to leave a comment, it is now on the top just under the title :)
Wishing you guys a beautiful weekend! Oh wait! Speaking of weekend, what are your plans? I’m having Pinkberry later today! :D
xoxo, kat
